Beauty of Newborn Sessions

This season with a newborn is both challenging and wonderful. Because of it's intensity, it can be a blur to remember much of it later in life! Not only do I capture your precious little one, but in your space, documenting details and the beauty of normal daily life around this time together.

I have four children, and because I'm the mom with the camera, while I have plenty of phone pics of babies in carseats or propped on the couch, but I have very few images of me or during this time. And what I'd love is more memories of the little daily moments through someone else's eyes- the beauty of being home with my infant and children- the way my son looks at his new sister, my husband's strong hands cradling his daughter, moments nursing my sweet one.

These sessions are relaxed, and in 10, 20, 30 years, the images we capture will be invaluable. Your baby will be getting taller than you, and stepping into adulthood, starting their own family, and you'll always have recorded memories of this fleeting, precious season with them.

What to expect for time~

Fresh48 sessions are approximately 30 minutes- I know you need to rest, mama! Emphasis is on the just freshly born details and moments and within 48 hours after baby's birth. In birth space or home.

Lifestyle Newborn sessions are 60-90 minutes (because half the time your baby will want to nurse!). Typically 1-2 weeks after baby is born, so if you're planning ahead, book your estimated due date with me now. Can be up to 6 weeks old. I highly recommend in-home- your memories and story are strongly attached to your personal space, future you will treasure this. If your home is not what you want, there are local studio options available, inquire.

If you're late to schedule and growing out of the newborn stage but still want pics- still yes! Future you will thank you.

If you are at a private birth center, clients are often discharged just hours after baby's birth, which is an extremely narrow window of time for me to come to you. I am willing if able, but it's more difficult to achieve. Consider having me there already so I can capture the moments when your baby is born, and the time after! Prices are subject to WA state sales tax. Prices are subject to change and are non-negotiable. Rate honored once your session is booked.

Travel fee may apply outside Skagit County

All digital images are delivered in jpg form and include a print release; Courtney Holcomb retains the rights to all images.

Credit cards accepted. 50% retainer due upon booking, balance due before your session. Inquire about a payment plan!
