A few tips for planning outfits with several families

It should be easy to shop your closet! Kids grow so fast, you may need to swing by Old Navy to grab fresh shirts for the kids.

1. Start with neutrals. cream/white, charcoal, brown.
2. Add a 1-2 colors for pop! Example- jeans, white tshirt, and burnt orange cardigan.
3. Theme for the group makes it super easy- all wear fall colors, or pastels. Or bold colors. Or earth tones. (quick notes: earth tones or blue/white combos are always winners)
4. Solid or simpler shirts- For men: Button down shirt, sweater, polo (please don't forget an undershirt!), henleys (I LOVE henleys on guys!). Bonus for textured fabric (ie. knit, waffle knit, linen, etc.)
5. No-nos- graphics, neons, crazy patterns, hats casting shadow on your face
6. Hang up your clothes, steam if necessary! Nope, I can't edit out wrinkles.
7. Have kids wait til they get to the session to change, just to be safe!
8. Shoes do matter some!

The #1 key- Mama- find your outfit FIRST!

Then build out the rest of the family. The ideas below are mostly the pieces for the rest of the family. Client closet and online store ideas above are great places to look for your outfit. One of my strategies is to go to TJMaxx and try on anything that catches my eye, even if it's usually not something I'd typically gravitate to I'll try it on. I usually find a piece or two I like that I may never have considered before!

If you'll be wearing jeans, now is the time to find those perfect fit jeans that tuck your midsection just right!

Top: if you're self-conscience about your arms, please shop for a dress or a top with a sleeve or drape of fabric. If you have a sleeveless, add a shawl or knit sweater! Sometimes dresses have light fabric or lace that drapes as well- dainty and still adds coverage. The dresses in my client closet cover the arms; even if one of these does not interest you, they may give you ideas toward what you would like!
