Time is a thief.
I'm also in this season with my little birdies taking wing! If this milestone makes you a bit teary-eyed, I can completely relate- I'm on the same journey.
As a mama to 4 teens/young adults, I want to freeze my "baby's" various expressions, smiles, and glances that are the core of who I know them to be. This is where I feel like taking your teen's photos becomes a huge privilege for me- I will get to present you with a gallery of portraits that authentically represent them.

FAQ
What do I wear (for guys)?
One classic, one trendy, one wildcard.
Or, your fav jeans and tshirt with flannel, bring a jacket (letter, ffa, or leather), and a suit.
Wildcard option- sports jersey shots.
Guys- I will always recommend that one outfit be a suit, because every girl loves a well dressed guy. (your IG will blow up- dare you to try it)
What do I wear (for girls)?
After booking, I'll send over my guide with suggestions and prep info!
I am also available to help you make decisions or answer questions as you shop & prepare.
Generally: One Classic, One Trendy, & One Wildcard.
or start in jeans, then a short dress and a long flowy dress
If you get a 4th outfit: add overalls/shortalls
Some girls opt for to wear an item from my client close- tops & dresses available for you have lots of textured & flowy fabric- they are the magical designer dresses we dream of that draw out joy & the inner child in us!
May I bring my dog?
If they can sit/heel or be held, yes! Mention it so we can find a location that is perfect for you.
Note: remember to bring a favorite ball for playful pics! Leash often required as well.
You'll want mom to hold on to them when you're getting other pics, so make sure you bring someone along.
What happens if rains?
If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we will discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location.
Rain does happen! Most often it works out.
(sometimes we shoot through, if you want, depending on your vibe! see my senior gallery examples- one fall session I came home damp, and the colors were fabulous)

What if I get an untimely breakout?
I got you!!! Master retouching of temporary blemishes automatic part of my process.
Tell me about Spring Minis
There will be 3 dates in the spring for minis, sign-ups will be sent out late March.
Announce your college choice (wear your t-shirt, bring the pennant!) & get the cap & gown pics to celebrate this milestone!
When should I get my pics taken?
Anytime spring of junior year til spring of senior year!
Thoughts-
Spring offers both some beautiful florals! (tulips, Wenatchee hillside, & wild lupines) Be prepared to work around weather.
Summer (my personal favorite!) for the warm, sunset glow, beach, wildflower fields, and warm Mt Baker sunset pics. I recommend July for beach and field (ask about an epic flower farms), August for Mt. Baker.
Sept- end of summer blooms are out (dahlias & sunflowers), Mt Baker is in full swing fall colors
Oct- Fall colors & yearbook deadlines! Weather turns mid-month, be prepared to reschedule around weather.
Nov- signs of fall through mid-month. Shop for a new parka to bundle to complete your look and be ok with working around weather.
What is yearbook assistance?
Some schools have perameters for submitted images (image size, orientation, or composition)- I'm here to help you make sure it's just right.
If you struggle with computers and need help with submitting to the school, I can do that.
When will I see my photos?
Turnaround time is 3 weeks. If we need to expedite your yearbook pic, we will!
What if I have a specific location request?
I want to hear it! Communicate up front, please! (Most of the time special location requests work out! I take these seriously, consider factors, & offer any honest recommendations)

We move around where we're at, so one location (like Mt Baker), you're getting many settings (backgrounds).
A second location is like starting at Ebey then driving 5-10 to the nearby dahlia farm.

Prices are subject to WA state sales tax. Prices are subject to change and are non-negotiable. Rate honored once your session is booked.
If the client cancels the contract prior to the session date or fails to show up for their session for any reason, all monies paid shall be retained by Courtney Holcomb Photography in order to offset loss of business.
All digital images (jpg form) include a print release assigned to the client. Courtney Holcomb retains the rights to all images.
