Quick Synopsis for prep:

For girls: Shopping from your closet? Go pick your favorite 3 outfits! One long, one short, one with legs.

I can't completely edit out wrinkles- please steam and hang your clothes if necessary!

classic (Black and/or white generally are, amazon has some quick wins for black or white shirts/dresses)

Sometimes changing a look can also be easy, like changing just the top with jeans, adding a hat and jacket.

Overalls or shortalls add variety too, super cute!

I am an "adventure photographer," so chances are we'll be outdoors for your photos. Choose a dress that can be laundered (MOST dresses can and are awesme, I'm referring to prom dresses- in summer OK, prom dresses that you want to keep clean in fall/winter/spring when it's muddy rainy outdoors- either not this time or bring it into the studio

If you have two outfits, here are my recommendations:

Girls: 1. jeans & top (sweater layer), 2. dress

guys: 1. jeans & top (jacket layer), 2. suit (or wildcard)

If three outfits:

Girls: 1. jeans & top (sweater layer), dress, overall/shortall/dress2

guys: 1. jeans & top (jacket layer), 2. wildcard, 3. suit

If four outfits:

Girls: 1. jeans & top (sweater layer), short dress, overall/shortall OR a second top for jeans, and long dress with flow

guys: 1. jeans & flannel (jacket layer), 2. wildcard, 3. suit. Add a second tshirt, jacket or over shirt, hat, change shoes, etc to add variety

Mt Baker: signature session = 3 outfits

***bring a sweater or jacket that works if it makes it in a few pics, and that you can wear inbetween settings

Next- anything else that's you? A significant piece of jewelry, an instrument, or anything that represents your interests? Anything that represents your plans for next year (college swag or colors)?

What about a bouquet? Florals add a pop of color, particularly November to April! (I recommend a garden bouquet vs a table bouquet. A table bouquet has long, stiff stalks to arrange in a vase. A garden bouquet has some fill and hangs a bit more naturally, these are locally sourced, purchased at farm stands or the farmer's market. In the winter, hydrangeas from Costco have a bit more of a garden feel. Something simple and delicate like some baby's breath is also lovely!

Ladies- Nude-colored undergarments are best! If you have anything with thin straps please consider a strapless bra, i cannot photoshop bra straps.

for guys:

Plan 1-3 outfits or looks (you can even easily change a look by changing your shirt or jacket)

Awesome pose- hands in pockets- Pants with pockets with enough room for hands (this is pretty normal for guys but just sayin)

Show up in a fav jeans & tshirt, with a jacket or flannel layer (letterman, FFA, leather, etc), even if it's warm out, you don't have to wear it for long at all- trust me on this one, even slinging it over your shoulder will add variety to your images.

Henleys on guys look amazing

WEAR A SUIT. No joke- you'll look hot (am I allowed to say that?!) Don't forget the watch.

Accessorize: cowboy hat? fav necklace? belt buckle? details add in your personality.

SUNGLASSES

Also, if you have a car/truck/skateboard/motorcycle,- ALL THE YESES bring it.

Horse? Let's do it.

Shameless plug- my daughters even say that a suit can take a "3" to a "7" instantly- girls like a well dressed guy

(and well dressed guys sure jog that IG algorthm)

A Note About Photoshop

I can usually smooth out a few wrinkles, but I cannot adjust your clothing. An ill fit shirt or out of place bra strap, you want to take care of these ahead of time! Figure out now if your shirt needs an extra pin or stitch, and if needed purchase the correct undergarments.

Glasses- leave a pair with transitional lenses in the car, bring a non-transitional lens pair if needed.
